Dr. Tapan Singhel, MD & CEO, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has welcomed the governemnt’s initiative in which it has introduced Standard Treatment Workflows.
“It is heartening to see a Government that listens. For long, we have been voicing the urgent need to standardise healthcare delivery, especially as health inflation which is nearly three times normal inflation, was putting quality care out of reach for many citizens,” he said.
The government, through the National Medical Commission (NMC) and ICMR, has now taken a welcome step by introducing Standard Treatment Workflows (STWs) across hospitals and clinics. This move ensures that every patient, regardless of where they go, receives consistent, evidence-based, and reliable treatment, he said.
Combined with initiatives like NHCX, common empanelment, and greater transparency, this lays the foundation for a dedicated health regulator in India. Together, these reforms will make healthcare more accessible, affordable, and trustworthy, a big stride towards a healthier India, he added.
